The Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery

The Salam Centre is run and managed by the Italian based humanitarian organisation EMERGENCY.
Since April 2007, the Centre provides high standard, free of charge paediatric and adult cardiac surgery.

Private citizens, Foundations, Institutions, private Companies and local Authorities fund the Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery.

The two major local partners of EMERGENCY in Sudan are the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and the Governor of Khartoum State (GoKS).

The FMoH contributes significantly to the running costs of the Centre. In addition, the FMoH purchased the equipment of the Catheterization Laboratory.

The GoKS donated the land for the construction of the Centre.
