The Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery

The Salam Centre is run and managed by the Italian based humanitarian organisation EMERGENCY.
Since April 2007, the Centre provides high standard, free of charge paediatric and adult cardiac surgery.

Central African Republic

The Memorandum of Understanding with the Central African Republic was signed on May 4th, 2007.

The Paediatric Centre was inaugurated in the capital city, Bangui, on March 2009. The Centre provides free-of-charge paediatric care to children up to 14 years and serves as screening and follow-up facility for the Salam Centre patients.

The Paediatric Centre of Bangui is treating around 70 children per day.
